Did you major in music, art history or another non-science major and now want to go to professional school? Are you wondering where to start your journey or how to get to your destination? Cal State Fullerton’s Pre-Health Professions Postbaccalaureate Program can be your roadmap to success.
The goal of the Pre-Health Professions Postbaccalaureate Program is to prepare students to be competitive applicants for medical, dental, veterinary, optometry, PA and pharmacy professional school. The program provides the required and recommended course work for post-baccalaureate students from non-science majors. The program is based on a cohort structure and is designed to be completed in 5 semesters.
Have you taken some science courses but still need to complete at least 20 units of upper division course work? The academic finisher program may be for you. You must have completed at least a year of General Chemistry and a year of General Biology. Contact our program manager to find out if you are eligible for this program.
Students may complete the program on a part-time basis with a tailored part-time course schedule. Part-time students are required to work 20 hours per week to assure medical schools that they are capable of carrying a heavy work load.
In addition, the program provides advising support for many issues related to the health professions and assistance with obtaining clinical experience. On-campus standardized test preparation courses may be available from commercial vendors at a discounted fee.
Cal State Fullerton’s Pre-Health Professions Postbaccalaureate Program admits approximately 24 students each fall.
