Classes

The Pre-Health Professions Postbaccalaureate Program requires a minimum of 43 units of approved course work, most of which will be required by the professional schools. The other courses required for the program are either highly recommended by professional schools or important for standardized test preparation. Each student in consultation with the Health Professions Academic Advisor will develop a program of study. Below is the typical schedule of classes for most Pre-Health Professional Students.


Full Time Student

  • Fall Semester Year 1: BIOL 151, CHEM 120A, PHYS 211/211L
  • Spring Semester Year 1: BIOL 152, CHEM 120B, PHYS 212/212L
  • Summer Semester Year 1: CHEM 301A, CHEM 301B
  • Fall Semester Year 2: BIOL elective, CHEM 302, CHEM 421
  • Spring Semester Year 2: 3 or more units selected from list of electives, Admissions test, Applications for Professional Schools

Part Time Student

  • Fall Semester Year 1: CHEM 120A, PHYS 211/211L
  • Spring Semester Year 1: CHEM 120B, PHYS 212/212L
  • Summer Semester Year 1: No classes
  • Fall Semester Year 2: BIOL 151, CHEM 301A
