There are many considerations when making a decision for your child to study so far away from home. Please review the information we've provided below as you consider one of the international programs at California State University, Fullerton. Since 1959 when classes first started, Cal State Fullerton has grown from a small college to a leading regional university offering over 3, 400 different courses ranging from general education to business administration. California State University, Fullerton is accredited by Western Association of Schools and Colleges and is highly ranked among public universities. The campus is a safe place where students can study and focus on their school work with plenty of opportunities for social interaction with other international students as well as American students.

Intensive English Program

The Intensive English Program offers English proficiency training for students at all levels. The classes help to prepare them for their TOEFL or IELTS tests so they can be admitted to an American university. The 24 hours of classes each week help to prepare them to be successful when they are ready for university courses. Students have many opportunities to practice their language skills with American conversation partners in class and at student activities. Our experienced instructors have many years of language training and help students to learn American culture.

The city of Fullerton is centrally located between Los Angeles and San Diego – not far from the beach and the mountains and there are many cultural and tourist attractions to enjoy. The city is a quiet residential community offering stores and restaurants within walking distance of the campus.

Housing

There are many campus dormitories or apartment complexes within walking distance of the university. Or, the Home Stay program places international students with American families as a way to learn American culture and customs. Whatever you and your son/daughter decide, we can assist you in arranging a place for them to live before they arrive. Campus Services

The university campus offers students many opportunities for growth and enjoyment. There are many food choices on campus for snacks or meals. The recreation center offers exercise equipment and a pool. The library has many resources for study and the health center is there to help when students are sick. There are even banking services, computer labs, study areas and the bookstore where books and school supplies may be purchased.

Local Transportation

The city of Fullerton offers bus transportation to apartments, stories and businesses near the campus. For university students, bus transportation is free with their student I.D. card (issued upon arrival). Our staff can help to direct the students and help them find the correct routes and schedules.
