It is the first step toward what we hope will be an exciting new educational journey and career path. The test is our way of ensuring you are ready to succeed in your chosen program, and beyond.
For the most part, the test will measure your knowledge of English and Spanish individually – vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension – with just a short portion dedicated to translation between languages.
As with any test, you’re welcome to prepare, but this test is essentially our way of finding out what you already know. In fact, if you have a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, you can skip it all together. To learn about the process of waiving the test (or for any other questions you have about the test), please contact Veronica Martinez at firstname.lastname@example.org.
You can sign up for the test on our course page. If the test is not currently offered, you will have the option of signing up to be notified when it is next available. Good luck!
You will have 2 hours to finish the test. It can be taken at any time during the designated testing period.
The test is divided into two individual halves, English and Spanish, each of which will be scored independently. Each half of the test consists of 50 multiple-choice questions and is divided into four sections:
Your test results will be sent by email within two weeks of completion. To enroll in the program, you will need a passing score of at least 70 percent on both tests. If you have a borderline score, you may be asked to complete a phone interview to determine your eligibility. If you score below passing and want to retake the test, we will provide you with additional resources to help you prepare.
