Course Information

Fiduciaries serve by court appointment as conservators or guardians and may serve by contract as trustees, representative payees, or as agents under powers of attorney. The course gives an overview of various positions of trust, legal definitions, and duties. Special attention is given to changing legal status and liabilities of fiduciary practitioners.

Please note: Students are welcome to register for these courses through the first Wednesday following the start date of each course, provided that the course has not reached full capacity.

Required: Handbook for Conservators, 2016 Edition (latest edition). This can be downloaded at http://www.courts.ca.gov/documents/handbook.pdf. Recommended: "McGovern California Probate Code Annotated" (latest edition). The annotated version is preferred because of the footnotes.
