Customer/User Experience-the crafting of effectual interactions between users and products or technology-has emerged as one of the fastest growing specializations in today''s business world. Increasingly, organizations are recognizing the value and need to invest in user-centered design and usability testing to gain competitive advantages and increase profitability. This class will provide individuals with an introduction to the varied disciplines, methods and sound business principles that comprise a user-centered design process. Individuals will explore the evolution of this specialization, the relationship between elements of User Experience such as human-centered research, Human Factors engineering, information architecture, interaction design and usability principles. Using real-world examples, class discussions will also examine the make-up and implementation of a user-centered process within a business or goal-driven organization.
