What inspired you to join the University Semester Abroad Program at Cal State Fullerton?

I've always longed to study in a multicultural academic environment, and the University Semester Abroad program at CSUF provided me with the perfect opportunity. This program not only allowed me to experience the excellent American education system but also enabled me to immerse myself in California's unique cultural diversity. My learning experience at CSUF has truly been immensely beneficial.

How would you describe your experience studying at Cal State Fullerton?

I consider my learning experience in the University Semester Abroad Program at CSUF to be both fulfilling and meaningful. The professors here possess profound academic expertise and demonstrate extraordinary dedication to teaching. I would use weekly office hours to ask questions, and the professors always patiently and meticulously answered them. Their professional guidance made complex concepts easy to understand. This interactive learning experience significantly enhanced my academic outcomes. Besides, the advisor of the University Semester Abroad Program has provided me with significant assistance. When I first arrived in the United States, I was clueless about how to select courses and complete student insurance. Without the advisor's continuous guidance and support, I would have found it very difficult to have the confidence to study in the United States. I am extremely grateful to the school for the help it offers to overseas students, and I also thank the advisor of the University Semester Abroad Program for her patient guidance and tremendous assistance!

Which class stood out to you the most, and what made it memorable?

CPSC362 was undoubtedly my most unforgettable academic experience. I encountered an outstanding lecturer who not only made complex software engineering concepts accessible through innovative teaching methods but also designed highly practical class projects. Our group's small game project not only reinforced what we learned but also developed teamwork skills. Most surprisingly, the lecturer prepared donuts to share with students at the end of the course - this heartwarming teaching approach deeply moved me.

Can you share one unforgettable moment you had while exploring California?

My visit to the Getty Center remains one of my most treasured memories in California. As an art enthusiast, being able to see Van Gogh's original "Irises" up close thrilled me beyond words. This world-class museum not only displays unparalleled art collections, but its unique architecture and beautiful gardens also made me linger. This experience greatly enriched my art appreciation skills.

Has the CSUF University Semester Abroad Program contributed to your personal, professional, and/or academic growth? If so, in what ways?

This program has profoundly impacted my development. Professionally, the systematic computer science curriculum significantly improved my programming skills and algorithmic thinking. More valuable was how the professors' rigorous academic attitude and pursuit of excellence deeply inspired me, shaping my professional values. This experience not only enhanced my professional competitiveness but also cultivated my attitude of lifelong learning. 

Would you recommend the program to other students? What advice would you give to those considering or preparing to join?

I strongly recommend this University Semester Abroad Program! My advice would be: First, plan your course selection in advance to make sure it matches your academic goals. Second, actively participate in class discussions and extracurricular activities to maximize learning outcomes. Finally, don't miss opportunities to interact with professors and classmates - these interpersonal exchanges often bring unexpected inspiration. Remember, the value of this experience lies not only in classroom learning but in the entire cultural immersion process.
