3 Reasons Why You Should Take Winter Session
In a strategic collaboration between University Extension and several academic colleges at Cal State Fullerton, preview graduate programs known for flexibility and career advancement.
1) Courses operate through various formats on an accelerated schedule.
Winter Session is offered in two sessions: Session A, which runs for 5 weeks, December 19, 2026 - January 22, 2027. Session B, runs for 3 weeks, January 4 - 22, 2027. Courses are taught on-campus or online. Whether you’re home for the holiday season or traveling, you can choose a course that fits your schedule.
2) Courses have smaller student-to-instructor ratios.
Unlike fall and spring semesters, taking a course during Winter Session means more personal interactions with the instructor and peers. Make sure to ask questions and get to know people who can help you achieve your academic goals.
Check out the class schedule via your student portal.
3) Winter Session keeps you on track or get ahead to graduation.
Taking courses during the winter semester (and/or summer) helps you complete credits that are put towards your degree requirements on time or sooner. Always check with your academic advisor to plan how best to approach general education and major courses.
Another option is to review your Titan Degree Audit (TDA), accessible via the Student Portal, to track your academic progress online. You can view how credits apply to your major, minor, and general education requirements as you complete your academic journey at CSUF. If you have questions or need guidance, always check with your advisor.
Registration for students on Titan Online appointments begins October 12th while registration opens for all students on October 14th at 8 a.m. Find more registration information at winter.fullerton.edu.
Non-admitted students can take classes through Open University (OU). To learn how to get started, read our guide to OU.
