Get the tools to put your career on the map

Data, in and of itself, is already a very powerful analytical tool. But put that data to work – give it a home – and you can use not only to assess the past, but also to plan for the future. Our online GIS certificate program will teach you to gather and assess data, and then put to use in ways that are invaluable to a wide range of fields, including municipal planning, healthcare and law enforcement. It’s ideal for students with a background in geography, but also for existing professionals looking to add to their skill sets.

Led by instructors with decades of experience in the field, the program’s courses will start by introducing you to the basic concepts of GIS before moving on to more advanced data principles and data mapping, culminating in a hands-on capstone project where you’ll put it all together and leave with the beginnings of your professional GIS portfolio.
