Course Information
This quantitative preparatory course introduces graduate students to calculus concepts and principles that will be used in graduate economics courses. Learning goals: Apply appropriate differentiation techniques to obtain derivatives of one-variable and multi-variable functions; Solve higher order derivatives and derivatives of composite functions; Solve unconstrained and constrained optimization problems with one variable and several variables; Understand business and economics applications of calculus concepts.

Challenge Exam
A “Challenge Exam” option is available on Saturday, August 22, 2020, to students who register for the boot camp. The exam is designed for students who have some background in calculus, but not enough to waive the calculus prerequisite.
If you pass the Challenge Exam, then you will receive a Credit grade for the class and you will not have to attend the class meetings. You will not receive a refund.
If you do not pass the Challenge Exam, then you will be required to attend the class meetings and retake the exam.
