Course Information

History, philosophy, and sociology of secondary education. Introduction to California Teaching Performance Expectations and Assessment; needs of special populations, English learners, and struggling readers; content standards; and major curriculum reform documents.

This course requires 45 observation hours in a middle school and a high school. All 45 hours of the fieldwork must be complete to pass the course. The student is responsible for setting up these observations. If you do not have the time or availability to complete this fieldwork at this time, we strongly recommend you take the course when it is more convenient for you. Please contact the course instructor for more information.
