What were you doing before the AMSE program?

Before the AMSE program, I was pursuing my bachelor’s in computer engineering from Mumbai University. As a new grad, I was looking for more opportunities to strengthen my knowledge and improve my foundations.

What were you hoping to get out of this program?

When I first learned that the accelerated program would help me complete the degree in 17 months, I was excited and a bit scared. Excited because I would be able to save time and complete my master’s and scared because I didn’t know if I could keep up. The program, however, was designed in a way that is challenging but very interesting to accomplish. This class is very diverse so I was also looking forward to communicating with other students.

Did the AMSE program improve your career? If so, how?

The program gave me a great overview of modern frontend and backend frameworks, software automation testing and deployments. I learned a lot working on my final project and the professors offered ample guidance. During the interview for my current job I got asked a lot of questions centered around the software development process and life cycle, which I had acquired an excellent understanding of during my AMSE program.

What advice do you have for students entering the program?

Learn to make the most of the resources available to you and lean in for support in difficult situations. The professors will readily help you in your learning process. The classmates you see on your first day will be your classmates until you graduate, so network with your classmates and seniors. Just go ahead and strike up a conversation. You will find that everyone is open and very friendly, so just go for it.
