Why did you choose CSUF for your Master's in Software Engineering?

I was researching Master’s degrees in Software Engineering, with more specific subjects, like software requirements, software architecture, and project management, along with real project development experience. I liked the way all the AMSE courses were set up. Also, it has a project module which starts from the 1st semester and all the courses are arranged in a way so that you use that knowledge to build the project. That was the main reason I chose California State University, Fullerton for my Master’s in Software Engineering.

“Because of my prior experience and this degree, I was able to secure a job before I even graduated and started working in project design.”

What were you doing before the Accelerated Master's in Software Engineering program?

I was working as a software developer in India for around five years.

What were you hoping to get out of the Master's in Software Engineering program?

Being an electronics engineer working in software, I had no professional training in software architecture, business analysis, or testing. AMSE helped me to grow in these areas.

Did the Master's in Software Engineering program improve your career?

Yes, definitely!

As I mentioned above, I had no professional training in software engineering. Work experience helped me to improve my logic and programming skills but my aim was to grow in the software architectural side. AMSE helped me to learn the basics and I am using all that knowledge in everyday project development.

Because of my prior experience and this degree, I was able to secure a job before I even graduated, and started working in project designing.

What advice do you have for students entering the Accelerated Master's in Software Engineering program

Focus on your project from the very first semester. All the subjects are arranged so accurately around this project, which lets you use it in your development process. It made my project so easy. I could understand all phases of software project development which I learned in AMSE.
