Admission Requirements
Our program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and our curriculum is designed to prepare social workers to take leadership roles in public service organizations. Admission is competitive. You are required to have an educational foundation in liberal arts/social sciences, and all applicants must also meet the following requirements:

Completion of a baccalaureate degree
Out-of-state applicants must show proof of a liberal arts/social sciences foundation. -
Minimum GPA of 3.0 for the most recent 60 semester or 90 quarter units
Must be for the most recent 60 semesters or 90 quarter units. -
Paid, volunteer or internship experience relevant to social welfare
A minimum of one year of social service experience is recommended. -
Three letters of recommendation
One letter from an academic source; one letter from a professional source; final letter from either. -
Personal statement
Statement should be no more than 300 words/2000 characters per question. -
Interview with admissions committee
Please note that not all applicants will be called for an interview.
Optional: GRE (recommended for applicants who do not meet the GPA requirement)
International Students: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores
