Standards and Practices in Professional Fiduciary Management

Course Number: SBAE 4704 (1.50 CEUs/15 Hours)

Course Information

Fiduciaries serve by court appointment as conservators or guardians and may serve by contract as trustees, representative payees, or as agents under powers of attorney. The course gives an overview of various positions of trust, legal definitions, and duties. Special attention is given to changing legal status and liabilities of fiduciary practitioners.

Trust Administration and Management is the only course with a prerequisite - complete Standards and Practices before enrolling. For students who are new to the fiduciary field, we strongly recommend starting with Standards and Practices followed by Trust Administration and Management, as these foundational courses provide the best preparation for the program's more advanced work.

Please note: Students must register no later than 4PM Wednesday (3 business days) prior to the course start date.

Online-Variable classes are fully online. There are not designated times in which students are required to log into the class. Modules will be released weekly, and students will work independently to complete assignments, discussion boards, quizzes, etc. by the stated deadline.The instructor will hold "office hours" that are live sessions held via Zoom where students can ask questions and receive feedback. Attendance of the "office hours" is optional but highly recommended.
