How to Upskill with Certificates

In a challenging job market, developing your current skills or new ones, may help you advance into leadership roles and remain engaged at work. Upskill by earning a certificate at CSUF University Extension, which offer virtual or fully online programs that can be completed in just months. 

Human Resources Management

How long will it take: 4 Months 

How many courses: 5 Required

Professional Fiduciary Management for Trustees

How long will it take: 5-6 Months 

How many courses: 4 Required 

Why You Should Take It: “...every day is a new challenge and if one loves to learn, defend the rights of others and finds satisfaction in serving the vulnerable, they will love being a fiduciary,” said Ted Ong, an instructor in the program and CEO & Advisory Representative at Prudent Investors. 

Crime and Intelligence Analysis

How long will it take: 6-7 Months 

How many courses: 8 Required

Note: Students must complete two pre-requisites classes before applying for this certificate: CRJU 300: Foundations of Criminal Justice and CRJU 484: Criminal Law: Substantive. Students may enroll through Open University enrollment or at a local community college or university. Why You Should Take It: “Overall, the certificate program made me a marketable candidate in my job search and it helps to show initiative; to take that extra step in addition to a traditional degree to showcase better skills and knowledge,” said Pearl Escobar, Project Resource Specialist at San Gabriel Basin Water Quality Authority.
