Admission requirements

The Bachelor of Arts in Humanities & Social Sciences Online Degree-Completion requires transfer students to have 69 transferable semester units (GE and transferable CSUF-approved coursework) for full admission. Transfer students with at least 60 transferable semester units may be considered for conditional admission (see criteria below).

" Minimum Admissions requirements must be completed by end of Spring 2027 to be considered for the Fall 2027 admission cycle. No Summer 2027 courses will be considered for admision eligibility."

Program Requirements

Eligibility for full admission: 69 transferable semester units

Eligibility for conditional admission: 60–68 transferable semester units

• A minimum 2.5 GPA
• Good academic standing at the last college or university attended
• A minimum of 30 CSU semester units in CSU-approved general education coursework, including the "Golden Four".
  
  • The "Golden Four"must be completed with a grade of C- or better (or be in progress by the spring term prior to the fall start). If not, you will not be eligible for admission (conditional or regular).  

• A minimum of 30 additional transferable course units (conditional admission) and a maximum of 39 semester units of CSU-transferable coursework (full admission).
  
  • The following courses can be completed after admission and must be completed before graduation
    • American History, Institutions and Values (3-unit GE course)
    • American Government (CSUF graduation requirement; 3-unit course)

Conditional Admission

In some cases, you may still be conditionally admitted to the program even if you do not meet the unit requirement of 69 transferable units, but have completed 60-68 units. Talk to the program advisor if this is your case. Being conditionally admitted allows you to start in the fall, but requires you to complete missing coursework concurrently at a community college.

Transferable Credits

To see whether or not courses from your community college will transfer to Cal State Fullerton, you can use ASSIST, a database that houses the transfer agreements between all California community colleges and California public universities. You may also contact the CSUF Transfer Center or your community college’s counseling center for assistance.
