Welcome
The Study Abroad & Global Engagement Office is excited to host the virtual Global Engagement Expo. This three-day expo will spotlight global opportunities which include studying abroad, studying away within the United States, virtual programs, global internships, post-graduate opportunities, internationally-focused activities at CSUF, and more!
Each day we will offer live (or pre-recorded) zoom sessions highlighting international institutional partners, global programs, and activities with opportunities to ask questions to program representatives, student ambassadors, CSUF study abroad advisors, and staff. This expo will allow students to practice being a Global Titan by cultivating curiosity, appreciation and respect for all cultures and backgrounds through participation in enriching activities and experiences, engagement with diverse individuals and groups, and exposure to different ideas and opportunities to "thrive in a global environment".

Program Types
Explore the various types of program we have to offer. For more detail descriptions, you can visit our How to Search webpage.
- Post-Graduate Opportunity: Programming available after graduating from CSUF.
- Post-Study Abroad or Global Engagement Opportunity: Programming available to students following a study abroad or global engagement (e.g. internship or service-learning) program.
- CSUF Reciprocal Exchange: Semester or yearlong exchanges with CSUF partner universities abroad. Participants pay the same tuition and fees they would at CSUF. Credits earned can be approved as major, minor, GE or elective courses.
- Non-CSUF Programs: Provider or direct enroll programs that provide flexibility to study just about anywhere and anytime.
- CSU International Programs (CSUIP): Semester- and yearlong exchanges offered by the California State University system. Participants pay CSU tuition and program fees and earn resident academic credit while studying at an affiliated host university or study center abroad.
- CSUF Department: One week to full semester programs created and managed directly by CSUF colleges, departments and faculty. Participants pay CSUF tuition and fees as well as low program costs, and generally enroll in CSUF courses for added ease of credit toward their degree.

CSUF Reciprocal Exchange Norway: Volda University College, Norway Volda University College (VUC) prides itself in providing the best possible environment for its students and staff. Creative and active scholars and administrators have made Volda a respected university. The university college has now four faculties, and offers six Master’s programs, more than 30 undergraduate study programs, and about 300 study courses. Volda offers many different educational options: media and communication, general and pre-school teacher education, social sciences, child care and social planning and governance, as well as literature, linguistics, maths and science, history, art and craft, sports and outdoor adventure, music and drama. Nationally, Volda University College is perhaps known for its journalism school, having educated many of the most important and influential journalists in Norway over the last thirty years. |

CSUF Department: College of Humanities & Social Sciences Study Abroad Opportunities The College of Humanities and Social Sciences’ departments and programs offer students the breadth of a traditional liberal arts education in the humanities and social sciences while preparing professional study in fields such as law, education, public administration, clinical psychology, and business. Of course important learning takes place outside of the formal structure of classes as well. H&SS provides many opportunities for students to be involved in faculty research projects, to participate in professional internships, and to be active members of student clubs. Students can study in Washington, D.C. or in one of several overseas programs that take place during the regular academic year, summer, and winter session. |

NON-CSUF Provider: Arcadia Abroad Whether virtually or in-person, Arcadia research and internship programs maximize the career-building potential of study away by embedding real world placements in coursework. The range of experiences on offer is vast for both summer and semester terms. Nearly 3,000 students from over 300 colleges and universities participate in Arcadia University's 130+ programs abroad in Australia, Cuba, England, Greece, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Scotland, South Africa, Spain and Wales each year. |

Global Titan Pride: SAGE Info Session for LGBTQIA+ Titans Studying abroad already presents a number of challenges for students, from financial worries to the stress of being away from family. But for LGBTQIA+ students, there exists an added challenge to studying abroad: the fear of whether they will be able to feel accepted and welcome in their study abroad destination. Therefore, in this event, we will discuss the reality of studying abroad as a queer student, and which countries or programs are safe for queer students to travel to. Along with discussing scholarship programs that aim to assist non-traditional study abroad students to study abroad, in this case queer students because, historically, queer students do not study abroad at the same levels as other students. |

CSU International Programs (CSU IP) Office Since its inception in 1963, the CSU International Programs, a systemwide department operating from within the CSU Chancellor’s Office in Long Beach, California, has contributed to this effort by providing qualified students an affordable opportunity to continue their studies abroad for a full academic year (or semester for selective programs). International Programs participants earn resident academic credit at their CSU campuses while they pursue full-time, yearlong study at a host university or special study center abroad. |

NON-CSUF Provider: Barcelona Study Abroad Experience (SAE) Barcelona SAE ar the Spain specialists, and connect students to people and places. They value cultural immersion and believe that interacting with locals is just as important as seeing the sites. They have become a supportive member of the community in Barcelona and pride themselves on working with locals – all the way from their cooking classes to Barcelona’s finest medical staff. |

SAGE Info Session for Parents, Guardians, & Loved Ones Participating in a Study Abroad & Global Engagement (SAGE) program enriches a student’s academic and professional life, and promotes personal development and transformation. The goal of this session, led by SAGE staff members, will be to inform parents, guardians, and those closest to our students about SAGE programs and processes as well as answer any questions to common topics (e.g. health, safety, costs, COVID-19, etc.). Spanish translation for this workshop will be available. |

CSUF Reciprocal Exchange Germany: Aalen University, Germany Founded in 1963 as a state engineering school and transformed into a university of applied sciences in 1971, Aalen University of Applied Sciences currently hosts 5,500 students studying in the university’s five academic schools, which are Chemistry, Electronics & Computing Science, Management & Business Sciences, Mechanical Engineering & Materials Technologies and Optics & Mechatronics. Aalen University is a member of the European Association of Universities (EUA), the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the German Rectors’ Conference (HRK). The main characteristic of universities of applied sciences (“Hochschulen”) like Aalen University of Applied Sciences is that they relate theoretical knowledge to practical experience outside of the academic environment. Professors at universities of applied sciences have a strong industrial background and are thus in a position to provide students with excellent links to companies. |

Their coursework, internship opportunities, and Globally Networked Learning model offer experiences that challenge, excite, and inspire students in diverse and powerful ways. Post-Study Abroad or Global Engagement Opportunities The Global Titans Ambassador Program is a voluntary program that provides study abroad alumni the opportunity to share their enthusiasm and passion for study abroad and global engagement with the CSUF community while engaging in activities that help foster professional development. The Global Titans Buddy Program is a group of volunteers from CSUF who help visiting international students adapt to campus life and American culture. International students will be paired with a buddy who can answer basic questions about studying, socializing, and living in Fullerton. Domestic students are often former study abroad/away participants and have been on campus for at least one full semester. This program was developed to help incoming international students meet American students and other international students quickly. CSUF students get to have an international experience, have cultural exchange, sometimes language exchange, and make an international friend. |

Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Info Session The U.S. Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program enables students of limited financial means to study or intern abroad. In Fall 2021, 30 CSUF students were selected to study abroad for this this semester and 1 in 4 of these students was awarded a Gilman scholarship with an average pay out of $4,000 for a semester program. By supporting undergraduate students who have high financial need, the program has been successful in supporting students who have been historically underrepresented in education abroad programs, including but not limited to first-generation college students, racial and ethnic minority students, students with disabilities, Veterans or dependents of Veterans or active duty members, and more. Join us to learn more about this scholarship opportunity before the October 5, 2021 deadline for Spring 2022, Summer 2022, Fall 2022 and Academic Year 2022-2023 programs. |

Fund For Education Abroad (FEA) Scholarship Info Session Fund for Education Abroad (FEA) invests in deserving U.S. undergraduates who are least likely to study abroad. The
mission of FEA is to provide scholarships and ongoing support to students who are
underrepresented among the U.S. study abroad population. FEA makes life-changing,
international experiences accessible to all by supporting students of color, community
college, and first-generation college students before, during, and after they participate
in education abroad programs. One online application leads to many opportunities.
An FEA applicant is considered for several scholarships they meet the criteria for.

CSUF Campus Student Club: Japanese Anime Club-Manga/Anime Illustration Founded in 2004, Japanese Anime Club is committed to bringing people together, making new friends, sharing our hobbies and interests in a safe and friendly environment. We love to watch anime, play games, and hang out together! CSUF Reciprocal Exchange Mexico: Tecnológico de Monterrey Tecnológico de Monterrey was founded in 1943 by a group of successful Mexican entrepreneurs led by Eugenio Garza Sada. The International Programs Department offers special services for exchange students upon their arrival on Campus. These services include an Orientation Program before the term starts, Immigration Services, Housing, Academic Counseling, Health Insurance, Field Trips, and Special Events.
